Some thoughts, mainly random rantings. I was 23 when I started this blog, and as time goes on some thoughts will remain the same, some views may change when I am no longer the observer but actually the performer, in this play that is life. These thoughts simply reflect a bit of the chaos that plays through my mind every day as I take a moment to observe the little details that I encounter along my path.

VENTING...And spreading holiday cheer

Been busy because got a holiday job at the mall, would complain more on it but the point remains that I get paid and I don't mind working except that my co-workers mainly grate on my nerves. So far they have lied to me, given me really mean stares and even tried to trick me into doing their jobs ( I found this weird and asked the manager she told me don't give in to them and outlined my duties which is what I try to accomplish instead of listening to their griping etc blah blah).Working with these girls I sense as if I am Gulliver, lost, judgemental and pissed off amongst the yahoos. I have never encountered such competition over such trivial stuff. This is the exact description of what I feel like...
"At other times, if a female stranger came among them, three or four of her own sex would get about her, and stare, and chatter, and grin, and smell her all over; and then turn off with gestures, that seemed to express contempt and disdain." (Gulliver's travels.)
Okay I admit that is mean..but i am so stressed.( blog edited here for content after I became un-mean)

On top of that I screwed up on the GRE, need to retake, scored 1020 need over 1100, I was very angry , blaming everyone but then I realised its just a test, it didn't kill me and the only person at fault is actually myself, so I'll move on and retake, wish me luck Bloggers!

Now most annoying of all is Donald Trump, to describe him in one word, I would call him an asshole, but to be more politically correct, I would say a womanizing arrogant, chauvinst.
All of this in regards to the Miss America pagent, what if its Donald's pagent so he can set, break the rules whenever he wants. And the news reporters are loving the feud between Rosie and Donald. My take He will always be an asshole, nobody wants to listen to him, he is fighting like a child, yes he does have fucked up hair and I cannot understand how such an arrogant bastard is allowed so much news time, simple solution put that little druggie chic in rehab, ignore Donald and focus more on those soldiers who were convicted for the SLAUGHTER of the people in IRAQ. The news this morning spent all of 5 minutes on that news and about a whole freaking hour on Donald and Rosie bickering.
We have a bigger problem than a little chic who's high and causing a raucus between two loud celebrities.
I was speaking with a guy this morning who said Rosie is an idiot because she's homo, I thought to myself well aren't you open-minded.What idiot would simply ignore a person'stance simply based on their sexual preference?
Anyways now onto the war on christmas...may I ask what the fuck is that?
People want to bring the Christ back into christamas , well go right ahead but they are actually listing retailer who say merry christmas and christians should shop only there...ahhhh excuse me?
See maybe their motives are somewhat alright but the point remains that they are still commericializing Christmas anyways.
How about , if you really wanted to say something give an insight into christmas, what Christ stood for? Don't bicker about who says X-mas as opposed to christmas, what about other religious sects? I don't care if someone wishes me merry christmas, merry x-mas, safe holidays, good cheer, whatever as long as its a happy greeting and makes everyone all happy.People shop a lot because they feel like giving and mostly they have nice moods, except where there is holiday traffic and such, but I think that at this time the most scarce human virtue is patience...
Anwyas I would rather the public focus more on ending the WAR IN IRAQ than some imaginary war on christmas made up by Only God knows who.
Enough blogging, lemme chill and spread holiday cheer....
TO ALL BE SAFE, HAVE PATIENCE, SMILE OFTEN AND DO ENJOY CHRISTMAS, HANNUKKAH, KWANZAA, BIG SALES, HOLIDAY, DAY OFF,FAMILY TIME or just the SIMPLE GOOD CHEER.
Whatever your reasons at least celebrate LIFE!

For Vami

You probably know me better than anyone else on this planet, but did you know how extremely happy I feel whenever someone comments that I resemble you?

Do you have any idea how blessed I feel that we are related?

Do you know how much faith I have in you? How I admire your strength?

Do you know that you're my best friend.

I love you lots!

FAITH LIFT

Wanted to share something positive and beautiful, found this in my inbox today:

Once a person prayed to God, "Please give me a flower and a butterfly for my garden". When he opened his eyes, he found a cactus and a caterpillar instead. He was dismayed and wondered why God had misunderstood his request. "Maybe God has too many people to care for," he rationalized and decided not to complain. After some time, when he went back to the garden, he found, to his surprise, that the unsightly caterpillar had transformed into a charming butterfly and the thorny, ugly cactus had a beautiful, fragrant flower on it.
Moral: God always answers our prayers, but often His answers manifest as per His supremely wise time and plan, not ours. God always gives the best to those who leave the choices to Him. But leaving the choices to God is almost impossible unless we tap the power of faith within us. Faith is innate to us; one of our first life-sustaining activities in life is based on faith. After birth, when our mother lovingly offers us her breast-milk, we drink it promptly without doubt. A research conducted to simulate the conversion of 'one piece of bread into blood' found that the industry for it extended to three kilometers! The conclusion: the work that we do in our entire lifetime for our survival is less than the work required to convert a handful of food into blood inside our body. The Bhagavad-gita ( 15.14) confirms that God sustains our life through the mechanism of digestion. But as we grow up, that faith of the heart is often obscured by the undesirable emotions - especially by sorrow, illusion and fear, which misdirect our consciousness, as stated in the Shrimad Bhagavatam ( 1.7.7). Sorrow makes us look behind - at all that has gone wrong in our life, illusion makes us look around – for some instant gratification to forget everything that has gone wrong and worry makes us look ahead - to everything that may go wrong in the future. Faith alone empowers us to look up - to see the benevolent hand of God guiding us out of our problems, to understand that everything is actually alright even if it appears wrong,
When we are faced with adversities, as is inevitable in this world, our peace and happiness will depend not on our wealth, but our faith.
However, if our perceptions are dominated by a materialistic conception of religion, "God is meant to provide me material enjoyment", we often blind ourselves to God's benevolence. We are intrinsically spiritual beings and without spiritual devotion for God, nothing can make us happy, just as a fish cannot live without water. Of course we need material things in life and God wants to provide those too; but not if they distract us from our eternal spiritual legacy in the kingdom of God . God is thus like a father, whose entire estate is ultimately meant for his son, but who may stop or decrease even his son's pocket money, if he sees his son squandering it in addictive indulgences. How can we increase our faith in God? The Vedic scriptures explain that hearing the message of the Lord as revealed in the sacred scriptures from His dedicated devotees and chanting His Holy Names strengthens our faith. Hence this divinely uplifting association of spiritual scientists constitutes a "faith-lift".
So when things apparently go wrong and our hearts become wrinkled by anxiety, let's go in, not for a face-lift comprising of artificial smiles, but for a "faith-lift". Then instead of jumping to short-sighted conclusions and falling into the ditch of ignorant distress, we will find ourselves taking a leap of faith into the protective arms of God.

by S. Das

I know that the vedas are mentioned here but I think that faith belongs to all, it is an intrinsic characteristic that defines humanity and forms a universal bond, that keeps every soul hoping, moving along their chosen path...living!

SLEAZY POLITICS: THE CORKER -FORD DRAMA

Tennessee Senate Race / Situation Room

This is unbelievable shit!
IAGO to BARBANITO:
'Zounds, sir, you're robb'd; for shame, put on
your gown;
Your heart is burst, you have lost half your soul;
Even now, now, very now, an old black ram
Is topping your white ewe. Arise, arise;
Awake the snorting citizens with the bell,
Or else the devil will make a grandsire of you:
Arise, I say.

CORKER TO PEOPLE OF TENNESSEE:

'Zounds, sir, you're robb'd; for shame, put on
your gown;
Your heart is burst, you have lost half your soul;
Even now, now, very now, FORD
Is topping your white ewe. Arise, arise;
Awake the snorting citizens with the bell,
Or else the devil will make a grandsire of you:
Arise, I say.

What is unbelievable is that Corker won the seat! This ad alone should've opened the eyes of the people that their senator's mentor could be Hitler.

I wonder if now I have to sit in the back of the buses in TN?

Should cigarette smoking be illegal?

YES
almost everyone uses wiki, so don't question it now.
from wiki:

"Carcinogens

There are 19 known carcinogenic compounds in cigarettes. "
"It has been noted that the majority of people diagnosed with schizophrenia smoke tobacco. Estimates for the number of schizophrenics that smoke range from 75% to 90%. It was recently argued that the increased level of smoking in schizophrenia may be due to a desire to self-medicate with nicotine. [3] [4] More recent research has found the reverse, that it is a risk factor without long-term benefit, used only for its short term effects. [5]However, research on nicotine as administered through a patch or gum is ongoing."

Why should it be illegal? Because there is something called second hand smoke! And I don't wanna be inhaling another's garbage!

I am purposely not posting any links. look it up yourself, there is a lot of information available, why should I limit you to one link on this toxin!
also look up effects of cigaratte smoke on sperm count
and links to sudden infant death syndrome

This is WRONG WRONG WRONG!

I am sorry, I wish that I had something positive to share, but here I guess I will blast the plight of my little country and how it is being overridden by the very scum of the earth as a stupid government allows this crime to continue. I hate this!
Inhuman cruelty and pain for freaking stupid drugs.
Trinidad is simply not improving, it is just becoming more and more worse everyday.

THE WORLD IS CRYING AND MAN IS BECOMING A BEAST

What is even more horrible about this story? so far for 2006 in a tiny little place like Trinidad there has been even more crimes like this, on little children.

The little chill

Florida has picked up a little chill in the air, its is almost like a whisper but it is there. It is enough to make one grin , it is enough to make me break out of my cocoon and want to go out again, it is enough to make me miss blogging.
I love this time of year!!!

I am really not sure who cares but still here's an attempt at an explanation

I am not quite sure why I removed most of the blogs either. In a drastic move I decided to hide most of my blogs for now. In my mind I asked myself why and the sole reason was simply because I can. I guess that it is a way of retreating into my shell from the virtual world. Slowly I am re-posting some but I am not sure when my mind will revolt against the world wide web again.

Another random consideration

Why do bad things happen?
Just like how we test the strength of a vase or something by putting stress on it so to the mind and the will are tested. These tests are hard but its what God gave us.
How else can character be built if it is never tested?
But sometimes why does man have to face the hardest tests?

On religious tolerance

A bit of insight, on My hi5 profile I chose to put a pic of lord shiva, for some reason this guy became offended over it, I cannot understand why since it is my profile and I believe that i should be allowed to put whatever I want. well anyways he decided to speak his mind and these are the conversations that followed.

(last message from guy, given his response I never even bothered to respond, I would only explain to one who will listen)

well what proof does ur bible have about the world today, and how come ur God looks only one race?
=== Original Message === >>>> (my reply)

I am not angry at you, a bit sad though that you couldn't see beyond your own views and what you have been thought to believe.
what makes this world unique is that each person has his own views, and are entitled to them.
Why are we not made in the likeness of Shiva? have you seen the form of shiva? Shiva is in the form of a man. His dress is traditional of an asthetic, so where am I not in his form?
You do not understand my view, which is okay, I grew up with alot of comments like yours.
I see Shiva as a manifestation, a, tangible form of the divine, what is wrong with that? It is mine belief just as you have yours.
you said that you come with love and truth, where is love that you try to change the view of another because it will not match yours?
I have read the bible, and many other scriptures, it is not what i was thought to belive, but rather what i have chosen to believe, based on my prayer and life. I have faith in Shiva and the path that I have chosen, and I am sure that you have faith in your path as well.
We are all sparks of the divine, no matter what nomination you choose, we are all human, temporal just passing through this earth, Man already disagrees over many things, it is our differences that make us unique, so why bother if I have a different faith thatn yours?
You mentioned a living God, even the concept of saying that limits the powers of the divine force.Shiva is given many forms, and there is the formless form as well.
Do we not both believe that nothing is possible without the grace of God. I chose to accept this grace in the Form of Shiva, how does that adversely affect you?
If you read this till the end then please do read the poem in my profile.
And please note I would not hate someone over an e-mail.

=== Original Message === >>>> guy's first message to me

couldn't help but disagree with you love.Shiva is not everything God is everything.Like it or not one day we will see his glory and know that he is God.Shiva cannot save you only the Lord Jesus can.You may hate me for doing this but I come with love and the truth. We were made in the likeness of God not what you may think.I know that you grew up believing one thing but look for the truth. For evidence, everything in the Bible has come and is coming to past. What other book has the events that are happening now.I hope that you are not mad and sorry if you are.I do this out of love and concern.Jesus is real and he is coming again. If you don't want to talk to me I understand but if you do I am waiting.May God bless you and I pray that he will quicken your spirit as you read this. There are many Gods to people. But really there is only one true living God.You keep good dear.Laterz

Everyone suffers

I turn to Dr. Seuss for help in explaining this one.
For those of you who have read this book, you know what I mean,
For the world, I wish that everyone can read this book!!!
Its at max a ten minute read, that would have you thinking for a very long time.
My very good friend had introduced me to this book one day in barnes and noble, at the time I wondered why would he ever want me to read a kiddies book, I never regretted reading it!
For those of you who can and haven't read this book as yet then please do
About BUTTER BATTLE

so after they have all fought and destroyed everything in sight, then what can man claim victory to?
The survivors will have to suffer the consequences of global warming and everything else.
Everyone loses, yet they fight.
I wonder what is gained by taking a life, I always wondered about war, Is there really victory in murdering someone who is not on your side of the line, or as Dr. Seuss so cleverly puts it butters their bread on the opposite side.

What can we tell a child today?

Little one, I want to tell you that life is safe,
that mankind is good
what do you tell a child in this world today?
Do you tell them , listen little one pray to obtain heaven while the very earth perishes?
Or do we stand up for what is right and to try to save what is left? try to save the sanity of mankind and the shreds of humanity that are left
Human life is so fragile but the will to live is so strong
there were about 86 reported deaths so far due to the Tsunami in Indonesisa today,
many more are dying in Israel and Lebanon,a few days ago, many died in Mumbai,
I think about the realtives of the families of these souls and I wonder about the anguish and betrayal that they must feel, to lose a loved one so tragically.
think about 6 billion hearts beating together , it is probabaly a lot harder to stop that 6 billion hearts fighting each other , already stressed.

there is the legend of that man who brought fire to earth, now there will be the legend of the people who brought hell to earth.
the heart does betray the soul when it loves itself too much,
the voice of the world is muted and only selfish lies of the heart are heard.

what will happen when the UN ignores a call for a ceasefire.

From Yahoo news 15/07/06

... Argentina's U.N. Ambassador Cesar Mayoral said the United States objected to any statement and Britain opposed calling for a cease-fire.
The U.S. and Britain want to wait for the outcome of this weekend's Group of Eight meeting in Russia, an Arab League foreign ministers meeting, and a mission sent to the Middle East by Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Mayoral and other diplomats said...
France's U.N. Ambassador Jean-Marc de La Sabliere, the current council president, confirmed "there was no agreement on a text tonight, but we will meet on Monday."
"Many delegations would have liked to have a very prompt reaction," he said. "Others think the spotlight should be elsewhere, not here in the council. "

But Lebanon's Mahmoud protested, saying while innocent civilians are killed, "here we are impotent."
full story

-----
Mahmoud is right, Isn't the job of the UN to try to at least stop the war, why was the call for a ceasefire ignored!!!
When civilians are getting killed everyday then why are they even waiting till Monday to decide on their next move, is this NOT WRONG!

What does war solve?

Answer NOTHING! Absolutely NOTHING! It is STUPID!
I turned on the TV and saw the bombings in Mumbai, saw the conflict between Israel and Lebanon heating up again,
There is only one thought in my mind as I think about this
THIS IS WRONG, IT IS WRONG, WHY CAN'T THEY STOP!
TERRORISM IS ABSOLUTELY STUPID! ALL Terrorists are STUPIDHEADS!
I wonder what is happening to the world? I can see this once strong goddess of Earth, being destroyed and tormented. She tried to provide for all of her children but then with their avarice and arrogance they started fighting each other , and destroying her as well. She is the pride of the creator and he is being angered, as her children continue to destroy eachother and her while she still struggles to suckle them.

About the trip

I guess that I simply wanted to talk about the mountains.
The quiet beauty of nature.
The air is so clean and fresh in the mountains and the rivers are crystal clear and beautiful. One wonders about the term crystal clear, but the water flowing over those grey rocks with the sun glistening on the surface, One can simply imagine Nature wearing her jewelry with pride.
I loved sleeping at the camp, listening to the sound of the water flowing by the creek all night, even though the ground was hard, the water lulled me to sleep.
The feeling of waking up in the cold fresh mountain air so far from home is exhilariting!
I guess that they called the waterfall laurel falls because of the beautiful laurel trees with white flowers growing along the path.
I wish that everyone can experience the calmness of the mountains, to think of these beautiful mountains being moulded and shaped by a magestic hand, with the rivers carefully etched into its sides,
Maybe if everyone can experience the mountains then people would become less mean and stop hurting the world.
The waterfall was so inviting, one simply wanted stand in that cold crisp mountain water, I smiled as I was climbing it and saw the strong tree roots sticking out like a helping hand telling me to hold on.

I cannot explain how fulfilling one feels while drawing a picture of Durga, it seems as if the pencil moves by itself.

Sleepless Nights

Where the mind resists, why then does the heart betray?
When there is thought and logic, why is it ignored, for emotion?
When experience should enlighten a decision why then is the path so dark now.
When the soul has decided to stand alone, then why keep on searching?
In the process of untying the chains of the ego, then why was this soul trapped and betrayed by the heart?
In a lost moment of bliss, away from this ego, why then does the soul succumb to the treacherous lies of the heart?
Listening to the silence, there is the premonition of a shell that will be broken.
Now waiting, I wonder is the creature inside stronger or already dead?
Isn't it so that sometimes the most difficult battles are the ones that we fight within, trying to decide what is strength and what is weakness.

When the world is crying, do we like many others maintain the middle line of apathy, or listen to it and feel with it?

Shiva and Parvati

The picture is not very clear, I believe that it is due to my digicam running on its very last batteries:D.
This one took 2 hours of non stop sketching and I actually had to start off with stick figures to get the proporions and postures correct.
Either way, I am very happy with this. I had started it about a week ago and I thought that it was too difficult and erased it.
Today during the match with brazil my mind drifted away from football (I had this premonition that history will repeat itself and that Brasil would again lose to France:(, since I did not want to witness this, I left the TV on and came online where I found this picture and started sketching again.

A drawing of Shri Ganesha (of all the drawings I did so far, this one took the longest:D about 1h )

drawing of Morgan Freeman

Pretty cool actor!!!
I put the rough sketch and the finished one here, as you can see my shading tends to ruin the pics:D, still working on it though.

On I learned a new telemarketer trick today to get those pesky people off my back,
you pick up the phone, don't say a word and then start to sing loudly!!!
Trust me with a voice like mine they never will call back:D

RONALDO JUST TIED MULLER'S RECORD!!!

More breaking news, Ronaldo just tied Muller's record!!!!
Damn now thats pretty cool!!!!!!!!!
WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, just one more to break it

RONALDO BROKE PELE'S RECORD!!!

BREAKING NEWS , RONALDO PICKED UP HIS PACE TO SCORE HIS 13th WORLD CUP GOAL TO BREAK PELE's RECORD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next up lets see if he moves on to break Muller's (14 WC goal) Record as well...

I'll wait for my soca warriors in 2010...but for now more copa mundial 2006!

well we didn't make it to the next round but we were happy to be there!!!!!!!!!!!!
at the last 10 minutes left for the match, the trini crowd started running with their flag and smiling grandly, any reason is a reason to party!!!! For us it would've been nice to qualify for the next round but at least the journey was exciting!!!!
Now the entire world knows that there is a tiny island in the Caribbena that can play football!!!

so moving on quite excited about the matches to come, Ghana proved themselves twice and surprised the world, their defense is excellent , plus I'm looking at the little Mexican team, they do show a lot of promise.
Plus one cannot think of the world cup without thinking of Argentina and Brasil.
Brasil seems to have slowed their pace a bit so right now it seems like a toss up, no guesses right now but hope for Ghana and the Mexicans!!!!!

Vive le futbol!!!!

NACHO LIBRE

One thing I noticed as we were walking in to see the movie was that the crowd was very multiracial.
Was was even better was that the entire movie theatre had busted out into fits of laughter, from beginning till end.
I won't reveal the plot but do take my advice and watch this. It is hilarious.
This is a really cute movie, made for all viewing audiences.
If you want a really good laugh then check this out, here Jack Black proves that he is as versatile an actor as they come!

GHANA 2: CZECH REP 0

No-one expected it but it happened!

Yes this was a fast paced fun to watch match. There were numerous bicycle kicks in Ghana's defense and almost every pass made it to the intended player!
The players were connected by the ball, you could almost see the rope of team spirit joining them. That's what is awesome, you play as a team,

Maybe Ronaldo should've realised this for Brazils' match, he really soured it with his lack of spirit, so far he must be the most dull player in this years world cup, anyways Ronaldinho more than made up for Ronaldo's lackluster performance.

Back to ghana V czech, the 1st goal was scored in the 2nd minute! talk about surprises.
Ghana played really well and the matched up to the czech rep.
This is the excitement that soccer is about.

Next up USA vs ITALY, lets wait and see, the odds are in favor of Italy but hopefully there'll be more surprises!

VIVE LE FUTBOL!!!

We lost one but we still eh Giving up

Soca Warriors put up a good fight! Good Match...

We really needed the two substituions in the end, but they weren't made. the players were tired and I do believe that Birchall needed to come off since he commented that he can't celebrate if they beat england, wtf! He sold out! Does anyone ever want a player like this?
we needed the substitution Birchell for Latapie!,
He was too busy checking out his idol English team and worshipping to play!
still I tip my hats to Shaka Hislop, lawrence, sancho, edwards, Yorke and all the Soca Warriors, we eh giving up!
Trini did score a goal but it was an offside, if only John was just one feet ahead!!!

Anyways I am still 1000000000 % behind my team, they put up a damn good fight and we still have a chance with the match against Paraguay
VIVE LE FUTBOL!!!!!

now this is the excitement that The world cup is about!

If you didn't see the match between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia then make sure that you watch it!!!
vami and I had gotten off the couch and there was the final few minutes of play, I was looking at the timer and since I thought that there was only three minutes of stoppage time I was telling her he has 15 seconds to score the goal, then unbelievely the man butted the ball in! Now that was an incerdible play!
In the 93rd minute came the goal needed to tie match!!!
The players gave it their all and they didn't give up!
Now thats what football is about.
And the goal scored by the Saudi captain, wow, that man ran as if the devil himself were chasing him to land a solid goal!
The Saudi players got down on their knees and prayed too...which was cool.
this was an awesome match! The dedication on both sides was overwhelming!
DO WATCH IT.

In other news Spain made a pretty decent comeback to finally win a match with a 4:0 win over Ukraine.
I guess for those of us who are definately not geography buffs now is an awesome time to catch up on it!
Ukraine: Location- Eastern Europe, bordering the Black Sea, can be found between Poland, Romania, and Moldova in the west, while there is Russia in the East!
Tunisia: location-boardered by algeria on the west, libya on the east and the Mediterranean Sea on the North

GHOSTS...

Ever notice how Ghosts are always depicted as crazy. I guess that is why most people fear them, because they are dead and no longer bound to the rules and ties of society and the limitations of a body, they can behave in whatever manner they want,
take what they want, do whatever they want...they no longer care if people think that they are crazy.
Now going back to the limitations of a body, if we weren't limited by our body, lets say we can become intangible/invisible whenever we wanted,
and never have to fear punishment, what would one do?
Now take away society, this cage that traps the mind, what if it no longer matter where were were on the social ladder, how many of us would then thread the path of 'insanity' and quench the superego?

*correction Quench the ID, not superego

I cannot think of a title for this.

orkut fortune for today said
Today's fortune:
A well-directed imagination is the source of great deeds

So what if it isn't well directed?
and what do they mean by well directed, conforming and keeping imagination within the walls of society?

Pablo Coelho put this very nicely in "Veronkia decides to die"
There was a kingdom and one day an evil sorcerer decided to poison the village well so that the entire kingdom would go insane, so the next day everyone drank of the well except the king and queen since they had their own well. Consequently the entire kingdom was insane and the king tried to put back order in his kingdom but since his ministers and guards had also drank of the well, they thought that his behaviour was crazy and asked him to step down. The king was going to resign his post when his queen stopped him and told him to drink from the well too. So they both drank and then the kingdom became normal once gain to him and he was allowed to rule again, however the neighbouring kingdoms all thought that everyone in that particular kingdom was crazy.

I wonder how many of us, afraid to face society also drink of this well. The fear that keeps us within the boundaries of 'sanity'.
Wouldn't one relate culture as the poison in that well to a certain extent? We want a culture and we want to belong so much that when the thirst for companionship grows to an unbearable extent, or when those we love have already drank and we find ourselves alone, never understood then we take the water, ignoring our own well. For an example think about the movie Mississippi massala, here, although we are all humans society that we live in wants to define our thought and it builds a fear inside of us to go against this, some refuse to drink from the well while others gladly imbibe the poison and then try to force it on others.
I know that the movie is a bit of a bizarre example but think about it.

now applying this to society, religions and man, if you do not conform you are crazy right? Independent thought has been a stigma throughout history. Now apply this to man and decide what gives us the right to decide what is acceptable and what isn't.

Think about this story (note: its paraphrased ) and do please do read the book, it is awesome!

ceci est le pied!

Spending so much time online now that I actually have to wear the stupid specks!

rambling to avoid doing chores

one of the coolest gifts is a barnes and noble gift card!
wohooo, I got one just for being in the right place at the right time.
the student government association found themselves with too much extra cash...I love getting cool free stuff!!!
listen to this, the kid told me, listen we are giving away gift cards you just have to answer these questions and don't worry I'll give you the answers....he he heh, what else was I supposed to say, but HELL YEAH, where do I sign!
the hardest decision was deciding whether I wanted the book on contemporary magic or sketching (hey I need a hobby!!!), I opted for sketching.

so yesterday my package came, I am soo excited!
apart from my book on how to sketch I got another another calvin and hobbes comic book!!!!!!!!!!!! barnes and boble even sent me free coffee...now this is too much:D
so far I have attempted to draw my foot, we had lost electricity during the day and since that meant no internet , I was left with nothing else to do but sip cofee and stare at my feet.
It proved to be a welcome muse!!!!!
I really need help with shading though, if there is anyone out there who can assist me in this area please do direct me to help.

In other news I found this really cool way to save on my cell phone bill.
io downloaded adcalls and now I can use the pc to place calls to phones without ever touching the cell...HA HA CINGULAR! no more overage fees for me!!!
so people please do download this ..only problem is that you have a 10 minute limit, but if you're like me and can get to the point right away then this wouldn't affect you much, or you can simply readial after the 10 minutes are up.

I took this personality quiz on tickle that told me I am romantic, so I have been busying myself lately trying to act romantic since the test said that I am, I don't think that it has been working though, because the long walk on the beach usually turns into a gallop for me and the romantic dinner gave me heart burn!!!

In other news , I have been resisting the urge to bash my head into a wall due to the pressure that I am a girl and therefore should not be taken seriously since I can be placated easily and it is my duty to listen and never question.

been reading da vinci with a dictionary, I saw the movie before i read the book and now in reading the book I realise how truly genius the writer is.
I see elements of foreshadowing and the obvious ironly that builds the intensity of the plot!
I dunno what all the fuss is about but this is a sure as hell damn good read!

judging from my above comment I think that my choice of language just disqualified me for the psoition of NY times book review staff:D

this one is by far the best!

graduation/birthday

Myspace Layouts, Myspace Codes, Myspace Graphics
Yesterday was graduation and my birthday as well. At the beginning of the year I had been very excited for that day but I guess we never know what to expect in life. I got caught up in the complexities of life and so on Thursday night I found myself struggling for sleep, with a distant thought somewhere in the back of my mind that I was graduating the next day.
It seems as if I have not blogged in forever.
Anyways the highlight of everything, raj let me doggysit Boo for a couple days!!!!!!!!!!

reflecting

I guess it is oftentimes good to make a complete fool of oneself when we are still young so that we still have the excuse of youth and the opportunity to learn from mistakes so that life becomes more enjoyable and optimism becomes natural as time continues its long path.
I choose this color because it is bright and reflects hope and happiness.

Durga Asthmi

It was on the 8th day that the demon Mahisaasur was slayed by the Devi and peace was once more maintained.
Today I did not think that I would make it to the temple for the night of the Asthmi, because of a 6pm class, however at 8:45 I walked in there, even made it in time for the devi mantra!!!
I cannot explain how fulfilled I felt that I found myself in the temple today, I knew that I was meant to be there!
During the Navraatri period, the fasting is more like a cleansing of the spirit, as I realise that probably my biggest demon lies inside of me and that the course of my life, and planes of heavenly bliss or the fires of hell are controlled by my thought. I can either let the demonic qualites overcome me or I can defeat it with a greater love for man , for humanity, for life.

An auspicious Time

We are in the Nauvraatri clelebrations now and the air is filled with an energy that can probably only be correlated to Shakti as now we are more focused on it. I was feeling a bit disturbed lately and on Friday night I decided to go to the temple, upon seeing the Devi in all her glory, the misery in my heart was quelled, I had found myself in the embrace of the divine mother.

A bit of an explanation of the Shakti, in looking at the aspect of God as the static (shiva) (potential energy) and then there is the dynamic or shakti (kinetic energy), of the universe, has always been there, never lost, just simply converted from form to form.

Last night I had a rather difficult time sleeping, I felt as if there was something that needed to be done and I even woke up several times during the night trying to figure it out.
It was in the morning that I realised my restlessness, In looking through some papers I found my Gita and started reading it, everything seemed to fall into perspective. In looking at the events of my life so far, I realise the purpose of each player and every tear.

My view of the world is slowy changing and in doing so, my responsivness to it is changing as well. I am finding it harder to exist in the physical world and be affected by the normal emotions of everyday life.

In this time I believe that our inner demons (basal qualities) are aggrivated because they are brought out in the open against the auspiciousness of the celebrations. Durga ( the invincible) manifested whenever there are demons to destroy them. The kundalini that rises, destroying all ego and vices. It is up to us to not give in to these demons but to seek the blessings of the Devi and to overcome these demons and find ourself in peace. In doing so one finds a contentment and pecefullness in life that keeps a constant smile on their face.

Thoughts on the restore point

I had once thought about how the computer has a restore point so that we can go back to a period of life where it did not change. well since the hard drive got burned out I lost a lot of files, some incomplete poems thougths and letters written to myself.
Reflecting on this I am glad that I lost them.
having held on to them so long, now I am finally free.
thinking about the immortality of words, the destruction of these files somehow helped me to let go and focus more.

The critter in my shoe

It poisoned me! In a delayed hypersensitivity response I started to suffer with swollen legs and an intense pain in the spine, tiredness, my skin was hurting and I was overheating! Man that critter got me good!

A surprise in my shoe!!!!!

This morning I am rushing for school so I ask mummy to grab my shoes, I usually keep them outside because I am too lazy to carry them inside, I didn't put on my socks as yet and I slipped my foot into my shoe and something moved against my big toe!
I screamed and threw the shoe then looked inside and a lizard was looking at me!

Wore very uncomfortable shoes to school today because of that and I keep on feeling this weird sensation on my toe :S

Bird flu: A sign of the end times?

Saw this in my e-mail:
"The Bird Flu or deadly H5N1 virus has grabbed the headlines again. In the past few weeks the dreaded disease has infected poultry virtually all over the world-and now it's infecting humans! Could this global pestilence be a sign of the End Times? " Left Behind Prophecy
I hate propaganda like this that just tries to freak out a population.

If one would read a tiny little bit, of course not! Google immune system people and read a bit.
Sure let the government stop molecular research which could provide a vaccine and lets obey the laws of one particular sect right...Famous quote: God helps those who help themselves, so what should we do? Cower and hope that bird flu disappears or try to understand learn more about it so that we can defeat it.

In the world of viruses and bacteria they are a pretty competitive bunch, probably the immunization for it would come from being afflicted with a less virulent critter.
there is always going to be a part of the population that will not be affected. So in the mean time stop freaking out about doomsday and try to learn more about this disease.
jeezums think! Did the plague wipe us out?

The little secret to our survival lies in our ability to mutate just like these strange viruses.
for the sect that is banning evolution theory, you might want to look this over before you bash it and demand that it not be taught.

Thinking...

"When one sees the same person everyday..they wind up becoming part of that person's life and then they want the person to change. If someone isn't what others want them to be then others become angry.
everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives but none about his or her own."---Paulo Coelho The Alchemist

This one little paragraph struck me quite suddenly and then I thought about cultures and society and how much I despise it, not actually despising it for what it is but the way in which it tries to force the mind to think a certain way and act a certain way.
I wish to be able to see the world through the un-tainted eyes of a newborn.

2006 Oscar award Best Movie Score

After listening to certain pieces from each movie that was nominated I truly believe that Memoirs of a Geisha ( Sayuris Theme) should have gotten the award. The music was phenomenal, and the pieces were refreshing with their originality. There was a faint asian melody flowing perfectely on a western note, rising above at certain instances to surprise the listener then peeking back into the blanket of the western strings. Listen to the piece and you will see what I mean (not sayuris theme though, but close)

Perfect Match

What is for you is for you.
you will know your perfect match when you find them because you will be with them:D

yesterday I was telling my mom that how I will stay single forever since I cannot seem to find anyone who understands me, her answer was simple yet made the world of sense.
simply well make yourself be understood then. You have identified the problem now fix it.
at first I was a little annoyed at this answer because I thought that it meant changing who I am, until mummy explained that it just meant trying to explain where I am not understood not just expecting the world to know.
Mother really do know best, don't they.

An excerpt from the song " The Origin Of Love" written by Stephen Trask

"...Last time I saw you
We had just split in two.
You were looking at me.
I was looking at you.
You had a way so familiar,
But I could not recognize,
Cause you had blood on your face;
I had blood in my eyes.
But I could swear by your expression
That the pain down in your soul
Was the same as the one down in mine.
That's the pain,Cuts a straight line
Down through the heart;
We called it love.
So we wrapped our arms around each other,
Trying to shove ourselves back together.
We were making love,
Making love.
It was a cold dark evening,
Such a long time ago,
When by the mighty hand of Jove,
It was the sad story
How we became
Lonely two-legged creatures,
It's the story ofThe origin of love.
That's the origin of love."

Tolerance

I just saw this in my 'daily jewish wisdom' quote of the day, 'Getting angry is like worshipping idols.'- Midrash LeOlam

See I got this quote from that because I suscribed to 'daily jewish wisdom', I am Hindu and I suscribe to this, at least I have the tolerance in learning about others faiths and not bashing them. I wonder if the author of this quote realises that intolerance just may be a greater sin than idol worship.
when did Hindus prosecute the Jews? I think that was ridiculous, it happened because there was a complete intolerant moron in power, so why should they bash my faith?

here is a quote that one of my friends sent me:

Masjid dha de, mandir dha de, dha de jo kucch dainda Par kisi da dil na dhain, Rab dilan vich rehnda..

Tear down the mosque and the temple; break everything in sight But do not break a person’s heart, it is there that God resides -Bulleh Shah

breaking religious barrier with friendship, myself and a group of arabic friends are discussing God, two of them insist that infidels will have to suffer the wrath of hell, the third my very close fried (muslim) disagrees. She comments that she has seen me praying and will tell anyone that we pray to the same God, also that in knowing me she cannot understand why anyone would ever believe that I would go to hell. We have had ups and downs this friend and I but no matter what I see her as my sister, destroying all barriers of religion, race and culture!

Might surprise all of you who think that Hindus are pagans but this is where we actually do believe that God resides, even if you are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christain, Atheist, Black, White Blue, Yellow, etc...

Wouldn't it be great if we can accept each other for the person they are instead of forcing our veiws and beliefs of what is right and what is wrong on them. Bash idol worship sure, did they even take the time to learn a little bit of Hinduism and to even know why do we keep idols? Isn't worshipping the Torah, Bible or Quran a form of worship or can I just burn one without any arguments ?
Look at oneself first before making judgements.
If they are the chosen disciples of God then how come I still exist and we are still made up of the same basic 4 base pairs in our DNA, or do they have an extra base I don't know of ? How come neither of us can fly?
Fire wouldn't discrimiate between an idol worshipper or a non idol worshipper, ever thought about that? Nor does the sun.
many often say that Hindus worship many Gods...please read the following verses carefully!

Though I am eternal, imperishable and the Lord of all beings; yet I (voluntarily) manifest by controlling my own material nature using my Yoga Maya.
Whenever there is a decline of dharma and the rise of adharma, o Arjuna, then I manifest (or incarnate ) myself. I incarnate from time to time for protecting the good, for transforming the wicked and for establishing Dharma, the world order.
Bhagavad Gita (4.06-08)

V for vendetta

As the name implies a Vendetta is a blood fued, however there are several other subtle and some not so subtle implications concerning current Government in the plot.
my comment:
YOU GOTTA WATCH IT!!!
V seeks his revenge and he uses the strategy of Guy Faukes in the movie (you'll see this in the very beginning his mask represents Faukes so c'mon its not a spoiler) but the role of Evey (Natalie Portman) is crucial in understanding the 'cross plot'. This is really an awesome movie, a bit long but the plot keeps you chained to your seat and the action while gruesome is exciting and the music is fantastic.
I have so much to say but I don't wanna spoil it for others so I'll continue this when I re-watch it on DVD release.

putting my foot in my mouth!

Today in Biotech class we crushed fruit flies in order to obatin their DNA, now after the intial crushing I had made my group into an assemly line where they would bring their tubes with crushed flies and I would then add lysis buffer. So after adding buffer for everyone, I was waiting on this kid John so getting impatient , standing with lysis buffer still waiting , I blurted out

'Open up your Fly, I am ready for you!'

John was caught off guard, class ruptured into laughter and yep I was red!

Stupidity H. N. L. part III

Health NewsLawsuit says cartoon emblem burned boy
HARMONY, Pa., March 15 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man is suing Wal-Mart for selling a SpongeBob SquarePants shirt that allegedly caught fire and burned his son.
Mark Dershem of Harmony, Pa., said he is also suing the MTV-Nickelodeon, home of the popular cartoon.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Dershem's 9-year-old son was stoking the embers in a fire at his grandmother's house when the SpongeBob logo on the shirt suddenly ignited.
It allegedly burned his face, arm and legs.

Why would he show the entire world that he is a negligent parent, who lets a 9 year old play with fire??? Maybe he should sue himself for stupidity first.

phagwah , pi day and the ides of march and DNA

In keeping up my super dorkiness I shall wish you all:

HAPPY Pi DAY 22/7 = 3.14...

and HAPPY BEWARE IDES OF MARCH
Guess you don't gotta worry too much about that one unless you're Julius Ceasar

and H A P P Y H O L I ! ! !
to all the Trinis : 'Happy Phagwah'...
a time to welcome the new year, enjoy the harvest and celebrate spring and just have fun, where vocally challenged like myself get to scream chowtals at the top of our lungs and no one complains!

why the new font, all biotech stuff are in courier , almost every single DNA sequence so I figured oh well I'll get used to it, no more Times Roman for me,
on that note check this out: now we can even play with the molecule of life
DNA

turns out DNA is much more than just the genetic code:D

one night of peace

woke up this morning and was struck with a thought...
I wondered about all the little children all over the world who could not enjoy a peaceful nights sleep without having to fear that they will be ambushed during the night, had to worry about waking up to work in a field or as a child prostitue, taken to a training camp to learn real warfare , having their childhood stolen from them, to wake up without knowing that there is a meal waiting for them.
I thought about the 8h that I slept peacefully and I wondered how many children are denied even that simple luxary simply because of man's intolerance.

DIAL UP??????

So I've been having some problems with the computers, desktop died and once again I did not save any of the files on it.
Even worse the dsl is down so we have dial up now.
dial up???? come again. wtf!!!

using dial up now is like opting for a casette instead of a CD,
using a VCR instead of a DVD player,
a typewriter instead of a computer....you get the drift...
Yeah I'm going bezerk, just tried to upload a file that would've taken 2 minutes max now the estimated time is 2 h .....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh..Worse yet, people especially those horrible, stupid TELEMARKETERS keep on calling and kicking me offline...and the computer keeps on losing the connection, it is taking a grand effort to not rip my hair off my head.

okay so going retro now, two girls decided that they will act as if the're in high school instead of a senior level class and broke into an argument over 'don't talk about me' blah blah..geezum to interrup a class over that!

Okay so there's a sexual offender on campus, so they put a sketch of the offender up on all calssrooms everywhere, thing is I swear that we had the same sketch up in coconut creek about two months ago for an armed robber, now I am wondering is it the same person or do the cops just select from a book of drawings and photocopy the same picture all the time? Or am I just imagining things????

breaking news: just got announcement in university e-mail saying that assault never occured, now is this a coverup? or did it really not occur (03-14-06)

ha ha just saw on this news line: '...woman enters exhibit, elephant smacks her'
now thats just hilarious! Wouldn't be if I were the woman but since I'm not he heh!
'Abizaid : Iraq can expect more bombings'....ammmm well duh, I guess this guy just woke up and found out about the civil war.
'Feisty Rooster rules at Punta City hall' Eh??????? Oh well good for him
'Bush-Musharaff renews antiterror alliance' ...no comment.
'Brokeback Mountain named Best independent film'...didn't see it as yet , just noted that...I guess the right wing doesn't extent to te oscars:D...either ways its on my 'to see list'
I liked that guy's performance in The Good Girl.

Okay so it took about half hour to post this since the computer froze about ten times so far on top of dial up!!!!
I've edited most of the swearing from this to make it readable! Gotta watch my blog now and watch the cussing since it seems that blogs are beginng to disappear off the face of the virtual world

SPRING BREAK!!!!!

WOHOOOOOO.....my last semester as an undergrad where spring break can actually be appreciated and enjoyed!!!!

An ode to Spring Break

Spring break is here
an oasis to the aching, tired
brains of students everywhere.
yeah! now we're wired!
A bit on fire, feeling the fury
of a spattering excitement
born from planned delinquency
when it is over then we repent!
Forget those terrible slavemasters
and torturesome papers for now
yeah they'll be back, bringing diasasters
but for now relax...how!!!

yeah I know its a pretty bad piece of poetry but unfortunately my brain went on hibernate mode right after 8pm today...probably won't start back up for about a week

seriously I've been looking forward to spring break since about the beginning of february:D
man I wish that I were more organized, then I can spend more time wasting time during spring break:D, instead of trying to get back on track....once again WOHOOOOOOO!!!!!

Musing

I hate multiple choice exams,
In the real world one has to sit and think about the problem at hand and then formulate their own possible choices and then select the best one, not choose from a list of already made choices.
In my view multiple choice exams are building the road to a future generation of functional illiterates. One should be evaluated on their ability to think, not guess.

okies 2h later...
so I wanted to continue, yeah there are pros to MC tests, like ease of grading, trick questions, forcing one to think harder etc
I'm tired now

just thought a thought

just read what I wrote and realised how quickly life just flies by,
at this moment I can still remember the name of a professor, maybe if this blog exists 20 years into the future, I'd read it and completly lose my mind, who knows

Wohooo

Miracously managed to finsh all of those assigments and still come out breathing, with the help of a Bubbie :D. Spent all day glued to the computer working on those things, anyway now three down six more to go...yippie
Professor was rather amazed that I had actually completed all three, I dunno why he assumes that I'm a slacker:S...I pretend so hard to not be:D
Had a discussion into his logic behind the assignments, after 2 minutes I had already retired far far away into secret la la land then after 5 minutes was wondering why me?

I am so tired, I have these thoughts in my head that are all clashing at once and I am trying to put it down here , but I can't define a single one, my head feels all heavy and drugged as if any minute now I'm just going to fall off this chair.
Once again my phone has started ringing and I started answering it as well, he he he crawling out of the shell for a while I guess.
Beginning to resonate between living and existing again:D...
Seriously Bio majors are 200% less uptight than Chem majors (random observation)

So listening to the news still trying to figure out the logic in not only sleeping with the enemy but giving them the knife to slash our throats as well... a random comment on the recent great American Port Sweepstakes...
This one is too much for even my stupidity has no limits series

ramblings for saturday night

Spent the entire day trying to fix my dsl connection. By 6pm I was ready to hit someone.
In a really bad mood, 3 papers due on tuesday, 2 projects and some quiz on wednesday...I need my la-la-la mode.

provoking news: stupid protests and ridiculous fatwa
Watching the news , protest over a cartoon?
I dunno why people now believe that they are the right hand of God and must smite down whomever they deem sinners.
As I said, the things people fight over.
Pakistan cried that they didn't have money when the earthquake struck, and now they got so much aid that they can afford to pay 1 million dollars for a fatwa? those help earthquake victims advertisments should be changed to raise funds for fatwa on cartoonists.
Really now they are overdoing it with the protests.
saw that some islamic leaders were put under house arrest so that they wouldn't cause any more protests, GOOD JOB!

bad news:
bird flu is now in india and africa. ( is this the new mad cow???)
I told you all vegetarian is the way to go.
It was really sad the people there are so hungry that they pick up the infected slaughtered chickens and carry it home to eat.

bizzare news:
so this guy got mistaken for a quail and was shot , ended up with maybe 200 little pellets in him, suffered a mild heart attack and then came out and apologised to the shooter and his family???
what can we learn for this one incident, lots of things
1. forgivness..turn the othe cheek and pray not to get shot there as well
2. what goes around comes around..you shoot quail for fun, maybe someone might find it amusing to shoot you for fun...at least now he knows how the bird feels
3. now we think about the shooter, I wonder if anyone would trust him with maybe their kids or maybe country...seeing that he can't even tell the difference between quail and a man and he gets kicks from shooting things for fun...

waste of time movie news:

saw final destination 3...wasn't my choice , just went for the hell of it;
rating D-
basically a waste of time flick that really doesn't make sense unless if you wanna sit and pretend to analyse it... lemme help you, a bs plot that maybe a schizophreniac will write. basic plot in a nutshell: people die horrific deaths that if you look at it they would die anyway (bc they are careless teenagers)
don't waste your time nor money.
you learn from these teen flick horror movies that your chances of suffering a horrible death, being chased by some psycho, having haunting killer dreams are incredible if you are a teenager, decreases a bit of you are a virgin and will increase to 100% if you are naked or making out with someone at a campfire, home alone, sleepover blah blah ( they always include some big boobed naked chic always meeting a grisley end..isn't that original) ...so if we really analyse it, the bad guys are really good ' 1984 big brothers'

okies lemme wrap up now , I'm tired.

Hostel

At 6:30 pm Andy called me up and asked if I would go see hostel with him, my bro was going and he asked me to come on with them so I went.
knew I should stayed at home and slept early!
about the movie, very disturbing, definately not worth watching unless you're really sick in the head.
The first half of the movie was basically porn, and the second half involved just slicing and hacking and killing for no reason other than sadistic pleasure.
Thats the entire plot in a nutshell. Now you decide if you wanna watch this.

welcome to 2006!

happy new year! from vam and nan Posted by Picasa
